40:14 They said to him, “Are you at all aware that King Baalis of Ammon has sent Ishmael son of Nethaniah to kill you?” But Gedaliah son of Ahikam would not believe them. 40:15 Then Johanan son of Kareah spoke privately to Gedaliah there at Mizpah, “Let me go and kill Ishmael the son of Nethaniah before anyone knows about it. Otherwise he will kill you and all the Judeans who have rallied around you will be scattered. Then what remains of Judah will disappear.” 40:16 But Gedaliah son of Ahikam said to Johanan son of Kareah, “Do not do that because what you are saying about Ishmael is not true.”

Amsal 26:23-26

Daniel 11:26-27

11:26 Those who share the king’s fine food will attempt to destroy him, and his army will be swept away; 23  many will be killed in battle. 11:27 These two kings, their minds 24  filled with evil intentions, will trade 25  lies with one another at the same table. But it will not succeed, for there is still an end at the appointed time.
